Job summary

Solé Miami seeks a Maintenance Engineer to join our boutique hotel team. You will maintain and repair facility systems, manage preventive maintenance, and support guest comfort across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in commercial maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to read blueprints, and good communication with team members and guests. A pool operation certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience of 2-5 years in commercial or institutional maintenance.
• HVAC, plumbing or electrical skills.
• Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
• Certification in pool operation preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and team members.
• Preventive maintenance background preferred.
• Read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Repair hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (boilers, chillers, electrical, etc.).
• Take required readings on equipment.
• Test cooling tower and record readings.
• Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
• Repair pumps and plumbing components.
• Repair and finish sheet rock and wall coverings.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.

A day in the life...

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring facility systems and structures are maintained and in working order. We are looking for a new team member who will take ownership of the preventative maintenance program/HVAC to protect our beautiful hotel.

To be successful in the Maintenance Engineer position, you...

• make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
• take required readings on equipment.
• test cooling tower and record readings.
• replace and program televisions as needed.
• replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• perform furniture repair.
• replace and repair pumps.
• perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
• understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• trace and repair all types of water lines.
• troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
• test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• paint designated areas.
• repair and finish sheet rock.
• repair all types of wall coverings.
• repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
