Lumaril Corporation in New York (Flatiron) or Los Angeles (El Segundo) seeks engineers to build, deploy, and extend the Lumaril platform. You’ll wear both hats, working directly with customers to deliver a bespoke-quality platform, then bringing what you learn onsite back into the core product.
You’ll spend some days on the ground with customers at facilities, and other days in the office turning learnings into prototypes that deliver immediate results. Travel will be 15–35% of the time.
Lumaril is an industrial autonomy company that increases output at existing plants. Our platform connects to a facility's control systems, learns how the operation performs at its best, and continuously optimizes production for higher throughput, better yield, and more reliable operations.
We’re actively building a culture that fosters productive collaboration on difficult problems with real-world consequences. We’re early-stage, moving fast, and looking for people who thrive with high autonomy (and high ambiguity).
We’re looking for engineers to build, deploy, and extend the Lumaril platform.
This isn’t a traditional software engineer or forward deployed engineer role. You’ll wear both hats, working directly with customers to deliver a bespoke-quality platform, then bringing what you learn and deliver onsite back into the core product.
You’ll spend some days on the ground with our customers, which might mean traveling to a grain elevator, a plastics recycling facility, or a metal fabrication plant. A typical onsite day combines a defined goal—such as observing a workflow in practice or getting user feedback on a prototype—with serendipity.
Being onsite is how we learn what we need to build, test it in real-world conditions, and spot unexpected opportunities to bring value to our customers through casual conversations and unplanned encounters. The ideal candidate finds that exciting, not a tax to pay before you get back to coding.
Other days, you’ll be at the office figuring out what to do with what you learned onsite. You’ll combine making a short-term impact by building prototypes to validate hypotheses and deliver immediate results to customers, then maturing and integrating what works into our core platform.
We’re open to a broad range of experience levels, from junior engineers who are hungry to learn to senior engineers who bring deep expertise.
