Eversource Energy is seeking a qualified engineer to support the design, maintenance, and operation of gas distribution systems. The role focuses on risk reduction, compliance with energy regulations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across planning, design, and operations.
A BS in engineering and at least three years of relevant experience are required. The position involves travel to CT/MA sites as needed and may include emergency restoration duties.

This position performs, or assists in, the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to meet the mission and objectives of the organization. In addition, this position coordinates the evaluation of system failures, and the appropriate resolutions, in order to provide support to operations on unplanned maintenance. Responsible for ensuring that the Eversource gas distribution systems are designed to high quality standards that provide customers with safe, reliable, competitively priced and environmentally sound gas service. This position shares accountability with peers in the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s Life Cycle Plan, a comprehensive long-term plan for the gas distribution system.
Requires theoretical and conceptual knowledge of discipline to develop and evaluate a process, procedure or regulatory requirements in the gas distribution business. Also requires an understanding of Company structure and business practices to implement procedures. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail. Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Requires a BS Engineering or BS Engineering Technology
Minimum of three years relevant experience.
Gas industry experience a plus.
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT as necessary. Depending on the specific nature of the engineering role, position may require occasional to significant travel by car. A valid driver’s license is required. This is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to random drug testing.
Work includes calculating, comparing, technical writing, editing, planning, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, designing, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing and presenting.
