What you will be doing:
- Manage the schedule to ensure that the fire protection aspects of the entire construction project are proceeding on an appropriate timeline.
- Ensure fire protection work is being carried out correctly in accordance with all regulations.
- Establish maintenance plans for the fire protection facilities of the operational buildings, manage and operate fire prevention systems, and plan and conduct fire drills to prepare for fires.
- Provide guidance and support for new manufacturing designs or ongoing retrofits to ensure the factory, office and support buildings remain within code.
- Work with third party design vendors to review concept designs and designs in progress to ensure they meet established design standards, local code requirements, and any other requirements of the AHJ.
- Commission and operate fire protection system equipment.
- Create and manage manuals for fire protection systems.
- Operate, manage, and maintain fire prevention systems, and identify and resolve causes of malfunctions and errors.
- Develop and conduct inspection plans for fire prevention systems.
- Interpret drawings and verify proper construction status.
- Develop and conduct fire drill plans.
- Contributes recommendations and suggestions for work method improvements, safety, materials, and tools.
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Associate’s Degree from a Technical College may be considered with additional relevant experience in lieu of a BS Degree.
- Trade Certification Program is preferred.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience with all aspects of fire protection, fire suppression systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire-resistant construction, and life safety.
- Familiarity with construction and preventive design, including facilities, semiconductor equipment, semiconductor chemicals, suppression, and chemical recognition.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and operating fire prevention systems.
- Competence in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of fire protection laws and regulations which include National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and International Code Council (ICC) requirements.
- Team building, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written, verbal, presentation, and listening communications skills across functional departments and with external customers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Computer skills including MS Office with the ability to operate corporate email, spreadsheets, word processing, engineering drawing databases at a highly proficient level.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed for business purposes, or to be called-in to work in the event of emergency or business needs.
