Kern County Water Agency in California is seeking an Engineer – Facilities Engineer III (Licensed Professional Engineer) to lead engineering activities for the agency's pumping, conveyance, purification and groundwater recovery facilities.

Candidates must hold a valid California PE (Civil or Mechanical preferred), a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and at least four years of increasing responsibility in design, scheduling, bidding and construction of water facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California (Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Four years of increasing responsibility performing engineering activities related to groundwater recovery, water conveyance, pumping, distribution and/or treatment facilities.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate, plan, design, construct, maintain and operate Kern County Water Agency water pumping, conveyance and purification and groundwater recovery facilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design and construction quality and compliance.

Engineer – Facilities Engineer III (Licensed Professional Engineer)

$131,539 - $159,910 Annually

***Please note that an additional 3% salary adjustment will be provided on January 9, 2027 per the General Bargaining Unit Memorandum of Understanding.***

This position will be responsible for performing engineering activities related to the evaluation, planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations of Kern County Water Agency water pumping, conveyance and purification and groundwater recovery facilities.

All applicants must possess a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California (Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred) and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. All applicants are also required to have four years of increasing responsibility performing engineering activities related to the evaluation, planning, design, scheduling, bidding and construction of groundwater recovery, water conveyance, pumping, distribution and/or treatment facilities.
