Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. seeks an experienced Equipment Engineer to support the Global Operations & Technology Team at the Beaverton wafer fab.

You will work across Photolithography, Diffusion, Implant, Epitaxy, Dry Etch, Wet Etch, and Thin Films to drive high-impact projects that improve yield, cost, and cycle time. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4 years of semiconductor experience, and strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field; GPA 3.5+ for coursework.
  • 4 years of relevant Semiconductor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting process equipment failures; optimizing equipment to match process performance across tools and maximize output.
  • Qualifying new equipment, new raw materials, and new consumable parts.
  • Developing and monitoring process and equipment measurements to improve quality.
  • Designing, prototyping, and deploying equipment upgrades.
  • Root cause investigation of discrepant material and implementation of yield improvement programs.
  • Developing improvements to manufacturing processes and modifications to production flows to improve yield, quality, cost, and cycle time.
  • Analyzing cycle time and equipment availability/utilization metrics.
  • Writing operating and equipment maintenance specifications.
  • Partnering with manufacturing operations to improve factory performance.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.

The Equipment Engineering Team is seeking a motivated, experienced individual to provide support to our Global Operations & Technology Team located at ADI’s Beaverton, Oregon. The Equipment Engineering Team is seeking a motivated, experienced individual to provide support to our wafer fab located at ADI’s Beaverton site. The Equipment Engineering team consists of multiple functional areas within the operations of the wafer fab including Photolithography, Diffusion, Implant, Epitaxy, Dry Etch, Wet Etch, and Thin Films. In one of these groups, you’ll have the opportunity to working on highly impactful projects that will make a meaningful difference to ADI.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting process equipment failures Optimizing equipment to match process performance across tools and maximize output.
  • Qualifying new equipment, new raw materials, and new consumable parts

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field of study.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 for undergraduate and graduate-level coursework.
  • 4 years of relevant Semiconductor experience
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with maintaining and upgrading processing or laboratory equipment
  • Experience with robotics, motors, PCB troubleshooting and/or design, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, PLC programming
  • Demonstrated history of strong mechanical aptitude
  • Superb computer and math skills, including statistics
  • Proficient with Visual Basic, Python, Java or similar programming language
  • Able to communicate with audience at any technical level
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to productively engage with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, practical thinker, and problem solver who is a quick learner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-starter with a strong worth ethic who will thrive in a dynamic 24/7 operation

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $75,200 to $103,400. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors. This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
