Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems is looking for a Principal Mission Assurance Chemical Engineer to join our team at the Bacchus UT Facility.
Description & Responsibilities:
Candidate will work in an industrial environment and support solving complex engineering problems. Will effectively interact with design engineering team and provide support across Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design.
Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements, and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines, and internal policies/procedures to assure compliance/resolve non-conformances and will serve as liaison between Bacchus Mission Assurance and various internal and external organizations, including some government agencies.
Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, process control, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including accessing stairs and work platforms.
Will frequently work in contamination control areas, must be able to meet foreign object standards (no permanent jewelry, etc.).

Candidate should have experience in the following areas:
Chemical processes
Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, SPC
AS9100/ISO9001
Demonstrated Customer Coordination
Tooling/special equipment
Systems Engineering and Statistics
Computer Aided Design – e.g., NX, Solidworks, ProE, ComSol, etc.
Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/ASME Y14.5)
Demonstrated leadership
Education/Requirements:
This requisition is for a level 2 or 3 and may be filled at a higher or lower level, depending on qualifications.
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Energetics Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters.
Principal Engineer: A Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience or a Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience.
Salary Range: $77,200 - $115,800
Salary Range 2: $95,300 - $143,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
