Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an electrical engineer to research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for naval and commercial use.

The candidate will lead Ship Alternation data tasks, coordinate with stakeholders for technical manual changes, and ensure proper interface coordination. Required are ABET-accredited engineering BS (with 9 years), MS (7 years), or PhD (4 years) in relevant fields.

The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Candidate will be responsible for Ship Alternation related data, such as drawings, instructions to execute the work, coordination of technical manual changes and interface coordination. The candidate will lead projects and coordinate with stakeholders to complete tasking.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;

Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;

Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
