Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking an Electrical/Crane Engineer to design, develop, and test electrical components and systems for facilities projects and crane engineering teams. The role focuses on power infrastructure, controls, and related industrial solutions.

Ideal candidates will have ABET-accredited engineering education and the ability to design, evaluate, and troubleshoot power and control systems, with basic MS Office and AutoCAD skills.

The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

This position will support facilities projects and engineering team in either the plant engineering, project engineering, or crane engineering team.

• skills that support execution of projects such as planning and implementation

These projects support facilities engineering in power infrastructure and controls, building control systems and industrial equipment control systems.

The candidate shall have basic electrical knowledge and be capable of solving problems in an organized manner.

• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, peers and customers
