Job description

AZAD is seeking an Engineer, EI&C I/II for a full-time permanent employment position based in Charleston, Tennessee.

This position is full-time on-site in Charleston, TN. Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.

The annual salary range for this position is between $120k-$130k depending on related qualifications and experience.

Summary:

This position performs a variety of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems. Basic knowledge of chemical and physical processes along with technical knowledge of electric power systems, field instrumentation, and local/distributed control systems are needed to execute the responsibilities of this position. The main objective of this position is to provide engineering and technical services to operations and service units in order to assure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximize the availability and efficiency of said units.


Essential Functions:

  • Support and closely cooperate with fellow Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering counterparts in assuring safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units.
  • Support availability of production units as required regarding capacity and quality.
  • Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering.
  • Participate in the commissioning of new and modified production units.
  • Participate in planning and execution of system or unit turnarounds.
  • Support maintenance team in the execution of ITPM's.
  • Maintain asset data in enterprise asset management and plant engineering system(s).
  • Keep documentation and equipment records up to date.
  • Become an expert capable of exercising EI&C engineering judgement with respect to the process areas of responsibility and assigned matters.
  • Develop and/or support development of specifications and standards.
  • Represent company's interest toward suppliers and contractors.
  • Plan and execute small size investment projects.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support process and technology transfer and exchange between company's polysilicon production sites.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality and cost.
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance department, within Operations and within other service units, with focus on achieving optimal results and solutions from a corporate enterprise perspective.
  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
  • Develop/update P&ID's, functional descriptions, loop drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Generate management of changes (MOC's) as needed to implement assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation or Controls Engineering OR Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • 1+ years in chemical and/or oil/gas industries (or similar industrial experience) is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Objective judgment and fact-based decision making approach.
  • Interpret, edit and create P&IDs, loop drawings.
  • Develop SIS testing procedures.
  • Design SIL and non-SIL Instrumentation control loops.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
  • Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong multitasking competency.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, instrumentation, controls and automation incl. relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, controls and instrumentation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time as required.

Preferred:

  • Preferred, but not required: 480V and medium voltage experience.
  • Preferred, but not required: Siemens Software PCS7/DCS, STEP7/PLC, SAP, Comos, PI.
  • Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) ISA-84, IEC61511 (SIL Rating, SIF Testing), OSHA, NFPA.
