Job summary

Experis Technology Group in Abbott Park, IL is seeking an Engineer - Degreed II to provide hands-on laboratory support and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems used in product development and service engineering activities.

You will diagnose issues in PCBs, cables, fluidics, and mechanical components, using oscilloscopes to identify root causes, run tests, and document results in detailed reports. This onsite role requires 3–5 years of experience and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience; minimum 6 months hands‑on engineering experience gained through professional employment, internships, co‑ops, research labs, or academic projects.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic and electromechanical systems, with the ability to independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills, including the ability to produce clear engineering test documentation.
• Comfort working in an engineering laboratory environment and performing repetitive testing activities with attention to detail.
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings and apply engineering principles with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on laboratory support to troubleshoot and evaluate complex electromechanical systems used in product development and service engineering activities.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to PCBs, cables, fluidics, mechanical hardware, motors, pumps, valves, and system-level components.
• Use oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools to identify root causes, execute testing, and analyze results.
• Run system evaluations and design verification testing, then document findings and generate engineering test reports.
• Build, modify, and evaluate prototype fixtures, tools, and breadboard assemblies while maintaining clear technical documentation (procedures, specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts).

Pay Range: $25/hr to $30/hr on W2
