Job summary

Syntron Material Handling, LLC is seeking a motivated undergraduate engineering student to support the R&D team in new product development. You will perform hand calculations, evaluate designs, and assist in lab testing and data analysis.

You will also help write reports, organize design notes, and contribute to updates of drawings and procedures. Strong drafting software skills and clear communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other drafting software.
• Ability to perform tests, analyze data, and create lab reports.
• Strong understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
• Assist R&D team in hand calculations and testing.
• Record data, write lab reports and organize notes/procedures.
• Create and improve designs/products/procedures/calculations/tests.
• Develop SolidWorks models, assemblies, drawings, and simulations.
• Participate in weekly meetings and report progress to Engineering Management.
• Assist in updating old drawings and models and fulfilling customer orders.

The Coop, under the supervision of the Facilities Manager will assist in new product development, performing calculations, evaluating designs, performing tests in the lab, writing reports, analyzing data, and improving the Quality department.

The Coop, under the supervision of the Facilities Manager will assist in new product development, performing calculations, evaluating designs, performing tests in the lab, writing reports, analyzing data, and improving the Quality department.

Responsibilities

• Ability to manage and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
• Assist R&D Team in performing hand calculations
• Assist R&D Team in testing, analyzing data, and writing lab reports
• Assist R&D Team in managing notes and procedures
• Assist in creating and improving new designs/products/procedures/calculations/tests/etc.
• Assist in creating SolidWorks Models, Assemblies, Drawings, and Simulations
• Assist R&D Team in performing FEA
• Assist in organization of engineering files
• Participate in weekly meetings, and give reports on project progress to Engineering Management
• Assist Drafting Team in updating old Drawings and Models
• Assist Drafting Team in fulfilling customer orders
• Detailed note taking of all tasks, progress, discoveries, important information, etc.
