South Shore Millwork in Norton, MA seeks an experienced Engineer/CAD Drafter to translate design concepts into precise, manufacturable drawings for luxury millwork projects. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure concepts are accurately implemented.

The role requires producing detailed 2D CAD drawings, shop drawings, material specs, and assembly instructions, while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CAD drafting or engineering design experience.
• Experience in architectural millwork, woodworking, or related industries preferred.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe, and MS Office.
• Ability to create precise, clear technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration with internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview:

The Engineer/CAD Drafter will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for custom millwork projects. This role will require close collaboration with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure design concepts are effectively translated into manufacturable and installable solutions.

This position is not a remote position

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify detailed 2D CAD drawings of custom millwork products using AutoCAD.
• Produce accurate shop drawings for production, including dimensions, material specifications, and assembly details.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to select appropriate materials and finishes that meet design requirements and budget.
• Prepare technical documentation, including material lists, construction details, and assembly instructions for use by the production team.
• Assist in managing project timelines by ensuring that design work is completed on schedule and aligns with overall project goals.
• Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts in designs, ensuring smooth hand-off to the fabrication team.
• Ensure all drawings meet the company's quality standards and are manufacturable within the production capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in architectural Drafting, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting or engineering design, preferably within architectural millwork, woodworking, or related industries.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and more.
• Familiarity with millwork materials (wood, metal, glass, composites) and construction techniques is preferred
• Ability to create precise, clear, and accurate technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges.
• Good communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
