Lakefront Management Authority in New Orleans seeks a Division Head for the Operations and Engineering Department. You will supervise staff and drive programs for maintenance and construction of non-flood protection assets under the Orleans Levee.
Responsibilities include directing project management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with external firms under contract with the LMA. A Louisiana PE license is required with 3 or 7 years of licensed experience.
The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood-protection facility or improvement asset or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Lakefront Management Authority (LMA) and indirectly to the Board of Commissioners of the LMA and is responsible for managing and overseeing all engineering, construction and maintenance activities for the agency. This position has direct supervision over the Engineer 6 position and the Facility Maintenance Manager B position. This position provides supervision and oversight of multiple contracts with outside Engineering, Architectural and professional firms under contract with the LMA for major construction and repairs.

Engineering experience gained while licensed as a professional engineer will be accepted as licensed engineering experience. Engineering experience gained after earning an ABET-accredited degree and prior to earning a professional engineer's license (e.g., as an engineer intern applicant, engineer intern, or equivalent) will be accepted as professional level engineering experience.
Applications will be accepted from persons licensed to practice professional engineering in states other than Louisiana. If one of those applicants is selected for the position, he/she will be required to obtain a Louisiana license prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all licensing requirements are met.
