Responsibilities
The candidate will work closely with audio signal processing experts to characterize various audio algorithms based on different performance metrics and help debug any performance issues. The candidate will set up testing equipment in an audio lab, conduct performance measurements, collect audio recordings, and support debugging of performance and test‑setup issues. The candidate may also create software scripts with Python or Unix shell for offline tests and simulations, and may work on C programming to modify audio processing functions.

Qualifications
- Basic software programming skills and familiarity with C, Python, bash scripting, and Unix operating system.
- Basic signal processing knowledge.
- Familiarity with audio testing and microphone recordings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Audio signal processing knowledge and Matlab programming skills.
- Familiarity with Adobe Audition and microphone measurements.
- Experience with Qualcomm debug tools and Android debug tools.
- Lab testing experience.
Education
Required: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 1–2 years of software or lab testing experience.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to half mile.
- Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
- Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
- Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than six hours a day.
- Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
