- Basic understanding of network security and firewall configuration.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages for task automation.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is essential.

Job overview and responsibilities
The Engineer – Cloud Cybersecurity focuses on maturing the third-party security assessment program at United Airlines, as part of a cross-disciplinary Cyber team. The Engineer will create and maintain the third-party risk assessment platform and collaborate with product, platform, engineering, and operations teams to ensure adoption of security best practices across the entire lifecycle. The role involves continuously improving the third-party risk assessment framework, playbooks, workflows, processes, and procedures.
- Enhance cybersecurity team accomplishments and competencies by planning solutions and answering technical questions.
- Determine third-party cybersecurity requirements by evaluating business strategies, pain points, and use cases.
- Design robust third-party cybersecurity architectures.
- Communicate security needs and priorities to upper management.
- Stay updated with the latest security systems, standards, protocols, and products.
