Job summary

Diversified, a leader in AV integration, is seeking a Field Engineer to commission AV systems at client sites in the Atlanta area. You will optimize settings, perform pre-commissioning, programming, testing, and document changes for project teams.

The role requires 3 years in AV installation/commissioning, DSP certifications (Biamp, QSC or BSS), and ability to troubleshoot AV and network systems. Frequent travel by car with mileage reimbursement; occasional remote travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in the field of Audio-Visual installation/commissioning
  • Able to concisely, consistently, and appropriately communicate with the project team
  • Able to troubleshoot basic and complex AV and network systems
  • Familiar with MTR and Zoom Rooms Required
  • Required DSP certification from one or more of the following manufacturers: Biamp, QSC, BSS

Responsibilities

  • Commission AV systems at client sites by optimizing settings in the equipment to ensure the system is operating as designed according to scope and drawings, documenting any changes via redlines returned to the PM and DE, and completing the project quality checklist.
  • Pre-commission systems in the office.
  • Perform programming and configuration loading and testing, debugging control system with remote programmer.
  • Communicate status to project stakeholders regularly.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues by tracing signal flow and engaging the appropriate parties to assist in resolving the issue.
  • Configure AV network and coordinate client network.
  • Create and modify DSP files for typical systems with an emphasis on AEC optimization for videoconferencing and coordinating control objects with programmer.
  • Contributes lessons learned feedback to the install, design, and pre-sales engineering teams to constantly improve system designs, product selection, and implementation.
  • Archive configuration and programming files with appropriate labeling to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the service team.
  • Maintain and grow certifications and technical knowledge.

What part will you play?

What do we require from you?

Required Education, Skills, Competencies, & Experience:
  • 3 years experience in the field of Audio-Visual installation/commissioning
  • Able to concisely, consistently, and appropriately communicate with the project team
  • Able to troubleshoot basic and complex AV and network systems
  • Familiar with MTR and Zoom Rooms Required
  • Required DSP certification from one or more of the following manufacturers: Biamp, QSC, BSS
Preferred:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • Self-starter and requires little direct oversight to perform tasks
  • AVIXA CTS-I
  • AVIXA CTS Preferred
  • Extron AV Associate Preferred
  • Audinate Dante Level 1 Preferred
  • Control certification from one or more of the following manufacturers: QSC, Extron, Crestron Preferred
  • Good customer service skills
  • Field installation and/or system design experience
  • Knowledge or familiarity with broadcast or hybrid conference-live event systems
  • Able to commission and troubleshoot using only a virtual connection to the system with onsite support

Physical Requirements:

Associate will spend most of the day on their feet moving around the jobsite. Must be able to occasionally lift at least 40lbs and be able to climb ladders and stairs. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth vision. Must be able to hear.

Travel:

Frequent travel by car and occasional airplane trips are required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate. Local travel to job sites (within a 2-hour driving distance each way) will make up 70-90% usually but remote travel can be up to 30% of the job at times. 10% remote travel is required on a regular basis.
