Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an independent Design Engineer to lead the design of 0.6kV–69 kV instrument transformers. You will autonomously manage projects from quoting to production hand-off, create detailed drawings and BOMs, and ensure compliance with IEEE and IEC standards.

You will develop final test procedures, generate verification reports, and provide production support to ensure seamless integration of design into manufacturing while driving quality and cost improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Alternately, a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Electrical Design.
  • Experience with current/voltage instrument transformers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design current and voltage instrument transformers from 0.6kV to 69 kV class.
  • Manage projects from quoting to production hand-off with drawings, BOMs, and production instructions.
  • Ensure designs comply with IEEE, IEC, and other standards.
  • Develop and implement test procedures and verification reports.

We are seeking an independent Design Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in the production design of instrument transformers and encompasses test-related activities. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to solve complex problems, develop and execute strategic objectives, and influence both short-term and long-term business goals within a manufacturing environment.



Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities



  • Product Design: Responsible for the design of 0.6kV through 69 kV class current and voltage instrument transformers, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards.

  • Independent Project Management: Execute most design assignments autonomously, managing projects from initial quoting through to production hand-off. This includes the creation of detailed drawings, bills of material, and comprehensive production instructions.

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with IEEE, IEC, and other relevant industry standards, maintaining the integrity and reliability of our products.

  • Test Procedure Implementation: Develop and implement final test procedures, producing thorough verification reports to validate product performance.

  • Production and Testing Support: Provide essential support to production and testing teams, ensuring seamless integration of design into manufacturing processes.

  • Quality and Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives to achieve expected results in terms of quality, execution time, and cost efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface effectively with Product Management, Production, Sourcing, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to align design objectives with overall business goals.

  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Uphold company safety and quality expectations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.



Required Qualifications

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes



For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus. This posting is expected to remain open for at least seven days after it was posted on September 25, 2026.
