Job summary

The Town of Mount Pleasant is seeking an Engineer 1 (Associate Engineer) to join our Engineering & Development Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional to advance their career while helping shape the infrastructure and development of one of South Carolina’s largest communities.

To address engineering and development-review issues, the Engineer 1 does the following: performs professional engineering work with an emphasis on land development review,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • EIT certification with plan to obtain PE within 4 years.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional engineering work with emphasis on land development review, stormwater management, and capital improvement projects.
  • Review development plans, stormwater drainage reports, engineering calculations, and other technical documents.
  • Perform engineering analyses; support Town capital projects; work with applicants, design professionals, consultants, and Town staff.

The Town of Mount Pleasant is seeking an Engineer 1 (Associate Engineer) to join our Engineering & Development Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional to advance their career while helping shape the infrastructure and development of one of South Carolina’s largest communities.

To address engineering and development-review issues, the Engineer 1 does the following:

  • performs professional engineering work with an emphasis on land development review, stormwater management, and capital improvement projects;
  • reviews development plans, stormwater drainage reports, engineering calculations, and other technical documents;
  • performs engineering analyses;
  • supports Town capital projects; and
  • works with applicants, design professionals, consultants, and Town staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline;
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with attainment of a South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license within four (4) years of the date of hire; and
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or coursework in stormwater management, hydrology, hydraulics, land development, or civil infrastructure;
  • Experience reviewing engineering plans, calculations, specifications, or technical reports; and
  • Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, or related engineering software.
