Job summary

American Greetings is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead cross‑disciplinary projects across multiple plant locations and to develop, justify, and implement efficient manufacturing and distribution processes. You will engage with facility engineers and shop floor personnel to monitor operations, drive continuous improvement with lean principles, and communicate progress to leadership.

Travel 5–10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 0–10 years of related experience. Multiple engineering levels based upon experience and education.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Develops and leads project work across multiple disciplines and multiple plant locations;
  • Responsible for the conception, development, justification and implementation of manufacturing and distribution processes;
  • Interacts and engages with all facility engineers and shop floor personnel to monitor and manage operational processes;
  • Responsible for defining, planning and executing continuous improvement projects by leveraging project management skills, shop floor experience and creative problem‑solving skills;
  • Leads activities to improve production and equipment capabilities through application of lean manufacturing principles;
  • Reviews new technologies to ensure optimal processes are achieved and maintained;
  • Will work in a fast‑paced environment with high profile exposure and engagement with local and corporate leadership;
  • Travel requirements are 5% to 10% to facilitate cross‑functional site initiatives;
  • Must be able to manage multiple initiatives and communicate progress to engineering leadership and shop floor stakeholders;
Work Environment
  • Office environment 60% of the time to manage ongoing projects and assignments;
  • Shop floor environment 40% of the time to review and implement projects;
Education & Experience

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience Required: 0–10 years of related experience. Multiple engineering levels based upon experience and education.

Job Type & Compensation

Job Type: Full‑time. Pay: $69,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year.
