Allied-Partners seeks an Engineer on Duty to perform routine and preventive maintenance on building mechanical systems, supporting the Chief Engineer. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and clear communication with the engineering team.
The candidate will assist contractors, monitor EMS/BMS, read blueprints, and maintain logs while working weekends or overtime as needed.
The Engineer on Duty is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance of all related building mechanical equipment and its related MER. This position requires the ability to meet the challenges and physical demands of the job. Provide support to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer, adhering to all work assignments and preventive maintenance schedules as directed. Follow all safety rules and uphold all code of conduct standards.
Build knowledge of preventive maintenance in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Conduct building rounds and utilize the Building EMS rounds through the Log Check system.
Understand and use monitoring BMS/EMS points for all HVAC space and equipment adjustments.
Perform basic blueprint reading.
Maintain shift building log entries.
Communicate all mechanical-related information transparently to the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, and relief engineer.
Assist contractors and vendors as required.
Adhere to all PPE standards.
Maintain all mechanical equipment and spaces in a clean and safe condition.
Work independently when called upon.
Adhere to all standard operating procedures and code of conduct.
High school diploma / GED preferred.
Basic computer literacy.
Prior mechanical experience.
Required Certifications:
Q-01 Refrigeration License
S-12 City Sprinkler
S-13 City Standpipe
S-14 City Sprinkler – Supervision of Multi-Zone Systems
F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations
P-98 Fuel Oil Piping and Storage
Utilize a 10’ ladder.
Available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime.
Lift at least 50 lbs.
