Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services seeks a Java/Spring backend engineer in the United States to design and implement microservices-based systems. You will build RESTful APIs, integrate with Kafka and cloud services, and ensure secure, scalable deployments across CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates have strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and frontend build tools, plus familiarity with testing and API management practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java 8 and Spring Boot to build scalable backend services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs with attention to scalability and security.
• Knowledge of microservices patterns including gateway, service discovery, config and sidecars.
• Experience deploying cloud-based solutions on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Spring integration with messaging systems like Kafka, AMQP, RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
• Experience with relational databases such as DB2 or PostgreSQL.
• Develop web front-ends with HTML5/React.js and CSS.
• Familiar with Node.js-based tooling and Webpack for frontend builds.
• Experience with testing frameworks Jest, Selenium or Cucumber and TDD concepts.
• Familiar with API management (Apigee) and security concepts (TLS, mTLS, OAuth 2.0).
• Experience deploying with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Fortify, SonarQube, Black Duck).

Requirements

• Experience in Java 8, Spring Boot, microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of REST API design and specifications.
• Microservices patterns such as gateway, discovery, config and sidecar services.
• Experience with internal and/or external cloud implementations (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• Spring integration with Apache Kafka, AMQP, RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
• Experience with RDBMS such as DB2 or PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing web applications using HTML5/React.js/CSS.
• Web development frameworks with Node.js, Webpack, etc.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Selenium, Cucumber) and concepts of Test-Driven Development.
• Knowledge of API management (e.g., Apigee) and security aspects such as TLS, mTLS, OAuth 2.0, and session management.
• Deployment tools using Docker, Kubernetes and overall DevOps CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Fortify, SonarQube, Black Duck.
