We are seeking an experienced Engine Test Engineer to support automotive engine testing, validation, and performance development activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with engine dynamometers, test cells, data acquisition, combustion fundamentals, and engine performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engine testing using dynamometer (dyno) systems and engine test cells.
- Set up and operate engine test benches, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Conduct engine performance, durability, thermal, NVH, and emissions testing.
- Collect, process, and analyze engine test data to evaluate power, torque, efficiency, and emissions.
- Perform carbon balance calculations for fuel economy and emissions analysis.
- Apply IC engine and combustion fundamentals to interpret test results.
- Support engine calibration and tuning activities based on test results.
- Troubleshoot engine, instrumentation, and test-cell issues.
- Prepare technical test reports, data summaries, and presentations.
- Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking.
- Follow all required safety and test-cell procedures during test execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of automotive engine/transmission testing experience.
- Hands-on experience with engine dynamometers and engine test-cell setup/operation.
- Strong understanding of IC engine operation, combustion theory, and engine performance.
- Knowledge of carbon balance, emissions calculations, and fuel efficiency analysis.
- Experience with data acquisition and engine test data analysis tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
