Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking an Engine Room Technician to keep our New Jersey facility running safely and efficiently.

You will execute and refine preventative maintenance plans, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and drive improvements that protect equipment, products and people. Based in Woodbridge Township, NJ, you’ll work on boilers, chillers, air systems up to 600 psi, and HVAC with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and uptime.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining industrial facility and production systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems up to 600psi.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480v.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and interpret technical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of plumbing, airflow systems, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, monitor, and continuously improve preventative maintenance plans for critical building and production systems.
  • Ensure continuous operation of utility infrastructure including boilers, chillers, air compression systems up to 600psi, and HVAC.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions on production and facility equipment.
  • Rebuild and fabricate spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to support troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and operational best practices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

SHIFT & COMPENSATION

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Pay: based on experience and skill level
