Job summary

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring an experienced Engine Development Technician for one of our trusted clients in the transportation engineering and testing industry.

The Engine Development Technician will support advanced engine and powertrain development projects through hands-on fabrication, test setup, calibration, equipment maintenance, and testing activities. This is ideal for a mechanically or electrically skilled technician who enjoys engines and emerging automotive tech.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience required.
  • Experience with PC-based applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of testing and development systems such as ADAPT, LabVIEW, MORPHEE and PUMA.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate components and equipment for engine and powertrain development projects.
  • Set up and conduct engine and powertrain development tests.
  • Perform equipment and system calibration.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on testing and development equipment.
  • Maintain established QA procedures and documentation.
  • Support engine test cell setup and operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with testing equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to meet timelines.
  • Maintain an organized and safe testing environment.
  • Document testing activities, results, and equipment conditions.

Full-Time | 1-Year Contract with Possibility for Extension

Available Shifts

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Position Summary

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring an experienced Engine Development Technician for one of our trusted clients in the transportation engineering and testing industry.

The Engine Development Technician will support advanced engine and powertrain development projects through hands-on fabrication, test setup, calibration, equipment maintenance, and testing activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically or electrically skilled technician who enjoys hands-on work with engines, powertrain systems, testing equipment, and emerging automotive technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate components and equipment required for advanced engine and powertrain development projects
  • Set up and conduct engine and powertrain development tests
  • Perform equipment and system calibration
  • Complete preventive maintenance on testing and development equipment
  • Maintain established quality assurance procedures and documentation
  • Support engine test cell setup and operation
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues associated with testing equipment and systems
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to support testing objectives and project timelines
  • Maintain an organized and safe testing environment
  • Accurately document testing activities, results, and equipment conditions
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree required
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PC-based applications and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of or experience with testing and development systems such as:
  • ADAPT
  • LabVIEW
  • MORPHEE
  • PUMA
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and succeed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fabrication experience
  • Emissions testing experience
  • Combustion experienceEngine testing experience
  • Experience with Horiba testing equipment
  • Previous engine or powertrain development experience
Tool Requirements

Candidates must be able to provide basic hand tools, including:

  • Metric and standard wrench sets
  • ¼-inch through ½-inch drive metric and standard socket sets
  • Screwdrivers
  • Allen/hex wrench sets
