Job summary

  • Lead resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues.
  • Lead management of Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Collaborate with CAE resources for design analysis (Structural, Thermal, CFD).
  • Create, complete, approve DVPs and oversee testing for robust validation.
  • Maintain CPMT documents and quality records for responsibilities.
  • Work with suppliers and launch teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Interface with engine dynamometer testing and cross-functional teams.

  • This position is within the ICE Powertrain & Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE)organization, supporting the V8 Coyote/Predator Powerpack Forward Model programs.
  • It is for an engine component design and release engineer on the V8 Coyote/Predator programs, with a focus on core engine components, such as structural aluminum castings, steel forgings, injected molded plastic, and front end accessory drive (FEAD) components.
Responsibilities
  • Design & Release new and existing components/sub-systems
  • Create & own the 3D models & 2D drawings for assigned components
  • Lead WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System); alerts, concerns and notice processing
  • Lead resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues
  • Lead management of Tier 1 suppliers
  • Work collaboratively with CAE resources in support of the analysis on the design responsible components (Structural, Thermal, CFD)
  • Create, complete, approve DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation
  • Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate quality documents (FEDE, ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAF’s, Global Integrator, OPTEX, APQP/PPAP, 543 Chart etc.) for program specific sub-system responsibilities.
  • Work directly with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and launch teams to support program requirements and resolve quality issues
  • Interface with engine dynamometer testing team
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, mating components, calibration, & manufacturing
  • Support prototype engine build Program Attribute Team (PAT) (BOM, inspection and prototype fit reviews)
  • Support travel, both domestic and international, when required
Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related field
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong Leadership ability
  • Ability to support travel, both domestic and international, as required

Even better, you may have...

  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related field
  • 2+ years Design and Release Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in CAD (CATIA, NX, CREO, or similar)
  • Technical expertise with Gasoline Internal Combustion Engines (ICE)
  • Experience with base engine dynamometer testing
  • Experience with CAE Simulation Methodologies (1D, 3D, FEA, CFD)

This position is a salary grade 5 to salary grade 8. Ranges from $65,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
