Rolls-Royce is seeking an Engine Control Systems Technical Lead - Aerospace in Indianapolis, hybrid schedule. You will lead a team of engineers supporting AE engine control programs, guiding them through the full lifecycle from planning to service release.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication with customers and stakeholders, and experience with DO-178/ARP4754 or similar certifications. Relocation is available and U.S. citizenship is required.

Position Summary

As the Technical Lead for Electronic Engine Controls supporting Rolls Royce AE family of engines, you will be leading a team of engineers supporting AE engine control programs through the complete system/software development lifecycle.

In this role you will be interfacing with AE program team, external customers, Airworthiness, and others throughout the development lifecycle. This is a technical leadership role with significant technical management responsibility, that is expected to work effectively in a challenging, self-directed, and agile environment and ensures robust, timely program delivery.

What you will be doing

• You will be responsible for leading a team through the system/software development phases from program planning through service release as outlined in ARP4754 and DO-178
• You will be communicating a clear view of all technical development activities and technical risks to team members and internal/external stakeholders
• You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and plans required to meet the program cost and schedules.
• The ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers is required.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2+ years of system or software development experience; Or
• Master’s degree in STEM
• PhD in STEM

Preferred Requirements:

• Engineering Degree preferred
• Project/Function Management Engineering Experience
• Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering engineering technical projects/tasks to time, cost and quality, and leadership of teams to do the same
• Experience of collaboration with diverse teams
• Experience with DO-178, ARP4754, or similar certifications
• Gas turbine engine controls experience
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative; and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
• An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communication
