Job summary

chowc is hiring a Teacher Assistant for Homer Brink Elementary to support before and after school care in a part-time role. The position runs with specific time blocks: before school 7-8:40am, after school 2:45-6pm, half days 12-6pm, and school breaks 7am-5:30pm.

You will assist with crafts, games, learning centers, and homework, fostering a safe, compassionate environment. Requirements include a minimum high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience with children under 13.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience with children under 13 is required.
• Driver's license and ability to maintain insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, encouragement, dignity, and discipline for the children.
• Offer growth opportunities through activities, education, and entertainment.
• Encourage self-help skills and cleanup, help maintain the facility as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality and report signs of illness or safety concerns to the director.
• Participate in mandated training programs and health checks.
• Administer family-initiated medications per policy when applicable.
