Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson plans, objectives, and instructs pupils in various grades or specific subject areas.
• Develops teaching outlines based on appropriate curriculum guides and Kentucky standards.
• Uses various levels of material and teaching techniques to instruct all levels of pupil ability and progress.
• Keeps abreast of new trends, methods and subject development in the field of teaching and its subject matter.
• Provides evaluation and referral of students to the proper program for optimum learning.
• Participates in the planning and evaluation of school programs and activities.
• Participates in business and professional activities of the school faculty.
• Provides for the safety, health and general welfare of the students.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom, during school events and on school property.
• Performs individual, small group or large group instruction.
• Participates in extracurricular activities for the benefit of students or school.
• Enforces a course of study and use of authorized textbooks as prescribed by Kentucky laws and adopted policies.
