Isidore Newman School is seeking a full-time long-term substitute to teach Spanish in our Lower School World Languages Department. The ideal candidate will have experience with a wide range of ages (pre-K through 5th grade) and near-native fluency in Spanish.

Prior teaching or summer camp experience in independent schools is a plus. The role requires building relationships with students, strong classroom management, and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Fluent Spanish and a degree in Spanish or a related field.
• Experience teaching in elementary settings preferred.
• Experience with a communicative approach focused on target-language use.
• Knowledge of diverse pedagogy and primary-level curriculum trends.

Responsabilités

• Teach Spanish to Pre-K through 5th grade using a communicative approach to develop language proficiency.
• Build strong relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assume substitute roles as needed (e.g., snack/mealtime, carpool).
