Mystic Valley YMCA in Malden, MA is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead safe and energetic classes for participants of varying fitness levels. You will create an inclusive, supportive environment and adapt sessions to meet health, ability, and cultural needs.

The role requires CPR, First Aid, AED, and a recognized group fitness certification, with at least one year of teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required.
• National group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, NETA, AFAA) or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.

Responsabilités

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Answers questions from participants to support health and well-being goals.
• Maintains knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information to members.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and connects them to the YMCA.
• Observes and adjusts classes for varied health, ability and culture.
• Celebrates participant achievements and progress.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and responds to emergencies.
