Job summary

Dundee Community Unit School District 300 is seeking a Fifth Grade Teacher for Big Timber Elementary School to join our Elementary School Teaching/ Intermediate team for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time 1.0 FTE position requires instructional planning, classroom management, and collaboration with staff to support student learning.

Ideal candidates hold Illinois elementary licensure with appropriate endorsements, are ready to work ASAP, and bring a commitment to high-quality instruction

Qualifications

• Illinois licensure with elementary education endorsement required.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate.
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and report to the appropriate administrator information about individual student compliance with school and district behavioral expectations, and state and federal laws.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to meet students' needs.
• Implement district objectives and RTI/Common Core standards in instruction.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintain accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Assist in upholding school rules and policies.
• Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and relevant topics.
• Collaborate with staff in planning goals and methods.
• Collaborate in selecting instructional materials.
• Share responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
• Establish open lines of communication with students and parents.
