Job summary

Metropolitan Family Service is seeking qualified Certified Academic Instructors to lead engaging classes for 1st–5th graders in writing, math, and reading. Each class will host about 15 students, grouped by grade, with materials provided.

This is a part-time, temporary position working alongside the Site Manager, Principal, and school staff. Background checks are required; duties include various classroom and program responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon Teacher Certification.
• Experience in teaching children and creating lesson plans.
• Desire and ability to work with children in enriching, safe setting.
• Independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging math and reading lessons for elementary students in extended-day classrooms.
• Establish and maintain positive classroom expectations and incentive programs.
• Follow school behavior and safety procedures to ensure student safety and consistency with day-extended policies.
• Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and volunteers.
• Maintain communication with Site Manager and Principal about progress and needs.
• Record and submit attendance daily.
