Job summary

ACCEL Schools in Cincinnati is hiring Daily Substitute Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. You will support classroom instruction, follow prepared lesson plans, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment that promotes student learning and social-emotional development.

The ideal candidate holds a State of Ohio Substitute Teaching License, demonstrates clear communication, and can build positive relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently hold a State of Ohio Substitute Teaching License.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working with students or in an urban environment is a plus—but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and help maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment
• Supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria)
• Follow provided lesson plans and school procedures
• Utilize school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned
