Job summary

Successful candidates will advance student learning through exemplary teaching, maintain organized courses, and engage in distance or online formats when appropriate.

Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) and have college-level teaching experience, including online learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in area of assignment or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in area of concentration.
• Bachelor’s degree for career/technical areas or equivalent professional experience in the field.
• Experience teaching courses at the college level, including distance/online learning in a technology-oriented environment.
• Commitment to teaching excellence.

Responsibilities

• Advance student learning through exemplary instruction in accordance with the established course syllabus.
• Model effective oral and written communication that engages students and improves student learning.
• Facilitate course activities in an organized and comprehensible manner.
• Establish clear expectations for all course activities and respond to student questions.
• Encourage critical thinking and analysis throughout course activities.
• Ensure content aligns with student learning objectives.
• Demonstrate fairness in preparation and grading of assignments and exams.
• Provide timely feedback to students throughout the course.
• Continuously improve instructional quality using innovative methodologies and distance education.
• Maintain student records as required by NCMC.
• Remain current with subject matter and effective teaching strategies.
• Adhere to NCMC policies and attend college functions.
