Job summary

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a 6th Grade Math Leave Replacement Teacher at Southampton Intermediate School. The position runs from October 5, 2026 to November 30, 2026 with compensation as per STA Contract.

The teacher will provide engaging, student-centered mathematics instruction aligned to the 6th grade curriculum and will participate in Ready Math training prior to the start.

Qualifications

• Must hold appropriate Elementary Certification with math expertise or Mathematics 7–12 with Grades 5–6 extension.
• Strong foundation in 6th grade mathematics.
• Experience developing engaging, student-centered lessons.
• Familiarity with Ready Math or willingness to be trained in the program.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, student-centered mathematics instruction for 6th grade students.
• Deliver instruction aligned with the 6th grade mathematics curriculum.
• Utilize Ready Math and participate in training for the program prior to the start of the assignment.
• Perform other instructional responsibilities associated with the classroom assignment.
