Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years in customer service, patient-facing, or telephonic outreach roles preferred.
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; active listening and motivational techniques.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate CHE completion in nephrology offices, clinics, or via telehealth; coordinate with Nurses and clinics to prepare for in-person appointments.
  • Outbound calls to patients, caregivers, and clinics for CHE scheduling, reminders, and rescheduling; schedule telehealth CHEs.
  • Welcome new patients to the program and collect concerns; escalate to RN/NP as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient updates to the care team.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to build trust and engage patients; overcome barriers to engagement.
  • Organize outreach by urgency and importance to maximize patient impact.

Job description

At DaVita IKC, engagement is everything. As an Engagement Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients—onboarding, scheduling, and keeping them connected through high-volume, relationship-focused outreach. This role is perfect for someone organized, motivated, and skilled at building trust while helping patients navigate their healthcare journey.

Details:
  • Commute to Davita partner practices in the designated market 3 days per week, working the remainder of the time from home
  • Full-Time, Monday–Friday schedule
  • Daily start time flexible between 7:00–8:00 AM
  • Mileage is reimbursed, Reliable transportation required
  • Drive time depends on patient population
  • Commute may include locations up to 90 minutes from central location
  • No nights/weekends
  • Home workspace must include a quiet, private space with high-speed internet
Responsibilities:

  • Perform outbound calls to patients, caregivers, and clinics for CHE scheduling, reminders, and rescheduling; schedule telehealth CHEs for patients unable to attend in-person
  • Welcome new patients to the program and collect any new concerns from existing patients; escalarte to RN or Nurse Practitioner as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient updates to the care team
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust, influence patient participation, and overcome barriers to engagement
  • Organize outreach efforts by urgency and importance to maximize patient impact
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years professional work experience in a customer service, patient-facing, or telephonic outreach role preferred
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and motivational techniques
  • Highly organized, with excellent time management and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with care team members

This position will be open for a minimum of three days.

The Wage Range for the role is $18.00-$22.50 per hour. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.71/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour.
