Rosecrance Ware Center in Rockford, IL is seeking an Engagement Specialist to provide outreach, crisis support, and recovery-focused services within the community. You’ll partner with the clinical team to design and evaluate crisis solutions and guide clients to appropriate resources.

The role emphasizes confidential, ethical care, with opportunities to pursue CRSS credential; weekend/shift coverage is required as part of the schedule and onboarding includes training and supervision.

Responsibilities

Provide mobile crisis response services in the community when dispatched.
Engage individuals hesitant to interact with behavioral health professionals.
Participate in design, implementation and evaluation of crisis solutions.
Deliver confidential, professional behavioral interventions and advocacy.
Maintain knowledge of Rosecrance services and community resources.
Complete required documentation within established timelines.
Attend team and staff meetings and participate in trainings for CRSS.

Position Summary

The Engagement Specialist will be hired from within the community area/neighborhood identified as Population of Focus (POF). Provide outreach and engagement services to ensure that POF is aware of the availability of mental health services and actively participate as partners in the design, implementation, and evaluation of crisis solutions. Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Select Engagement Specialist positions must be eligible to pursue Certified Recovery Support Specialist credential (CRSS) based on their lived experience.

Qualifications

Essential Responsibilities

Work hours prescribed and any additional hours-deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. Overtime may be required.
In partnership with other team members, provide mobile crisis response services in the community when dispatched.
Support the engagement of individuals hesitant to interact with behavioral health professionals or first responders through trust-building and resource provision.
Actively participate as a partner in the design, implementation, and evaluation of crisis solutions.
Advocate for individuals with professionalism and a collaborative, non-confrontational approach.
Provide appropriate behavioral interventions and advocacy for individuals experiencing adverse mental health conditions.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of community resources and the full range of services offered by Rosecrance.
Provide clients with resources tailored to their needs, including referrals to additional treatment resources when necessary.
Conduct thorough follow-up communications with clients and/or their families, and provide additional referrals as required.
Ensure timely completion of all required documentation within designated timeframes.
Participate in training sessions aimed at obtaining the CRSS credential if applicable.
Participate in statewide events/summits/trainings/activities that support the education and development of consumer provider services.
Attend all scheduled meetings of staff, team meetings or appropriate committee meetings as designated.
Serve as a member of the assigned team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
Facilitate transportation of clients to Rosecrance buildings or hospitals as needed.
Contribute actively as an integral member of the clinical team, fostering collaboration and inclusivity by participating in all team meetings, discussions, and activities aimed at enhancing client care.
Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the professional Code of Conduct and within the framework of the law.
Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
Serve as a role model and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing the agency.
Assume other additional responsibilities as requested by leadership.

Friday - Monday: 8:30am-7pm

Shift: 1st

Pay

Based on education, experience, and credentials

Starting Pay:

HS/GED - $18.43 per hour
Associates’ - $19.37 per hour
Bachelor’s - $20.25 per hour

Shift differentials

(hours between 3pm and 11pm): $.25/hr.
(hours between 10pm and 7am): $.50/hr.
