Job summary

High Point University’s Library is seeking an Engagement Student Assistant to promote library programs and services. The role focuses on creating social media content, capturing photos and videos, and assisting with promotional materials.

The position offers hands-on experience in a collegiate library setting and may tailor duties to the student’s skills. Work will primarily in Smith Library, up to 20 hours per week, with potential evening or weekend support during events; starting pay is $8.00

Qualifications

Able to work independently and communicate effectively with staff, students and visitors.
Friendly and professional demeanor when representing the library.
Willingness to learn new creative tools, platforms and procedures.
Minimum 2.0 GPA and commitment to campus engagement.

Responsibilities

Assists with creating engaging social media content that promotes HPU Libraries and programs.
Takes photos and videos at library events and spaces.
Brainstorms content ideas and promotional concepts.
Creates or edits graphics, photos, or videos based on skill level.
Assists with event setup, staffing tables and attendee welcoming.
Works with the Digital Engagement Specialist on assigned projects and reviews.
