Job summary

Workday, Inc. is seeking an Engagement Manager to lead mid to large Workday deployments across multiple engagements. You will guide client teams, ensure delivery within scope and budget, and participate in sales discussions to shape delivery approaches.

The role requires strong project management, expertise in Workday modules (Financials, HCM, Payroll), and the ability to mentor Professional Services staff. Travel up to 50% may be required in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience of project management with HCM, Payroll, or Financial implementations within medium enterprise, large enterprise, higher education and/or state and local governments.
• 3+years of experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–5 simultaneous deployments and manage scope, timeline, and budgets.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to Professional Services resources on implementations.
• Interact with client project managers to identify and resolve issues impacting scope or timelines.
• Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales and development to position additional service offerings.
• Assist in transitioning customers from professional services to product support.

They will lead/manage mid to large deployments and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. They will also support executive level expectations by providing internal suggestions to management, based on field experience, as to how to potentially enhance the Workday Deployment Methodology.The ideal candidate for this role will be in the Central or Eastern time zoneWe will also consider candidates at the Senior level for this roleo Become a guide in Workday's Implementation Methodology and demonstrate it on all engagements.o Lead the implementation of 3 - 5 simultaneous projects.o Show strength in the Workday product suite – Financials, HCM, and/or Payroll.o At times, participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW.o Provide guidance and mentoring to those Professional Service resources working on their implementations.o Ensure projects are accurately planned, staffed and tight management of scope and budget/resource forecasting.o Work with the internal customer project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.o Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.o Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday standard methodologies.o Be a liaison for professional services when interacting with sales and/or development.o Find opportunities to position other service offerings.o Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation.o Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to product support.o Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW.o Present clients with change orders in the event they're asking Workday to perform tasks that are outside the scope of the SOW.About YouBasic Qualifications for a P3 Engagement Managero 5+ years’ experience of project management with HCM, Payroll, or Financial implementations within medium enterprise, large enterprise, higher education and/or state and local governments.o 3+years of experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications.Basic Qualifications for a P4 Senior Engagement Managero 7+ years’ experience of project management with HCM, Payroll, or Financial implementations within medium enterprise, large enterprise, higher education and/or state and local governments.o 5+years of experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications.Other Qualificationso Consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company.o Solid grasp with at least one of the following business areas: Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable or Services procurement.o Project Management experience a must. Experience with Scope, managing timelines and budgets.o Excellent communication, organization, time management, and social skills.o Passion for customer service.o Business development skills.o Knowledge of Internet technology and cloud-based applications.o Previous service sales experience a plus. Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience.o Travel is a required element of this role.
