Job summary

The Financial Times is seeking passionate interns to join the US Reach and Subscriber Engagement team. This paid, ten-week summer internship runs June 7, 2027 to Aug 13, 2027, with in-office presence at least three days a week and pairing with a Buddy for mentorship.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. You will help develop social media content, engage audiences, and support journalist teams across the FT network.

Qualifications

• Experience in journalism or student publications demonstrates relevant news judgment.
• Familiarity with design and video editing is a plus.
• Strong writing and editing skills, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop original ideas and engagement strategies around news events and projects.
• Assist social media team with posts and keeping channels updated.
• Produce original social content (charts, cards, videos) for FT journalism.
• Engage readers directly through reader participation projects.
• Use data to analyze audience behavior and inform journalism.
• Provide SEO and social trend guidance from analytics tools.
• Create panels to promote stories on Google Showcase.
