Job description

At Westminster Presbyterian Church, this full-time position is to become engrained in the life of the church, develop and implement strategies to deeply support members and others as they seek to meaningfully connect within our internal and external avenues at Westminster to “Live Out the Word.” This individual will lead efforts to encourage active participation through worship, discipleship, community service, small groups, other events and outreach. It will be critical to know the congregation, the various opportunities and engagements, and be a source of information and connectedness – assisting members and families to find their comfort and calling in Christ. This leader will be actively engaged in and aware of the life of the church.

In addition, the Engagement Director will develop focused strategies that encourage our members to generously share their Time, Talent and Treasure through: (1) unique and grateful service, gifts, and engagements, (2) pledging to support our annual budget, and (3) endowment/legacy gifts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Engagement Strategies: Create and oversee programs that connect new and long-time members, visitors and others within our community to the church’s mission, ministries, small groups and committee activities. Knowing the culture of Westminster, he or she shall seek out families and individuals for”specific opportunities for successful engagement within the life of our church.
  • Time, Talent, and Treasure Promotion:
    • Support the Generosity Committee and Legacy Fund by fostering a culture of generosity and encouraging members to engage more fully of their Time, Talent & Treasure for God’s Kingdom.
  • Being both “people oriented” and a “self-starter,” work alongside pastors, the Executive Director of Children & Community Life, the Parish Associate for Youth, and the Session, committees, classes, and small groups to cultivate a vibrant and engaged faith community.
  • Communication and Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the church’s communication team to effectively promote engagement opportunities via digital platforms print materials, and announcements.
  • Data and Metrics Tracking:
    • Monitor engagement levels, collect feedback, and analyze trends to refine and enhance engagement strategies.
Qualifications
  • A deep personal faith and commitment to the mission and values of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for connecting people and building relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and community members, fostering a spirit of unity and shared purpose.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and special events as needed to support church activities.
  • Familiarity with church management software and digital communication tools is a plus.
