Job summary

Eliot Community Human Services, Inc. in Springfield, MA is seeking an Engagement Counselor for the PATH Team to provide outreach, engagement, crisis intervention and clinical assessment for adults with serious mental illness.

You will work with local providers to connect individuals to treatment, housing and resources, while using Housing First approaches and harm-reduction principles. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm; compensation ranges from $48,000 to $55,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Healing Arts or Education.
• At least 1 year of experience working with adults with mental illness and homelessness.
• Master's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform outreach and engagement to identify homeless individuals with mental health needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling and basic needs support.
• Facilitate linkage to housing resources and other services.
• Maintain knowledge of local housing programs and collaborate with partner agencies.
• Apply client-centered and harm-reduction approaches.
