Job summary

Atria Senior Living in United States (New York area) seeks an Activities Coordinator to lead Engage Life programs and plan a rich schedule of resident activities. You will arrange a variety of recreational offerings, motivate participation, and ensure residents enjoy meaningful daily engagement in a supportive community.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma, plus 3–6 months of related experience or training, and strong written and verbal communication skills for one-on-one and

• Able to write simple correspondence and present information to individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engage Life programs and associated activities for residents.
• Provide diverse recreational activities with supervision for each activity.
• Develop programs for residents, including those confined to rooms when needed.
• Engage and motivate residents to participate in activities.
• Inform residents of upcoming activities and maintain the events schedule.
• Greet new residents and integrate them with others with similar interests.
• Assist in planning parties and seasonal decorations; coordinate monthly birthdays.
• Coordinate volunteers to support the activities program as needed.
• Occasionally drive the company vehicle to social and other destinations when required.

Leads assigned programs that are of interest and meaning to our residents in order to enhance their lives and exceed their active aging lifestyle expectations.

• Leads assigned Engage Life programs.
• Offers adequate and diversified recreational activities to residents with sufficient supervision for each activity.
• Develops programs for residents including, if applicable, programs designed for residents confined to their rooms.
• Engages and motivates residents resulting in program participation.
• Informs residents of upcoming activities and maintains a current schedule of events on the bulletin board.
• Greets new residents making a special effort to include and engage them in activities and introduce them to others in the community with similar interests and backgrounds.
• Assists in planning parties and activities as well as decorating the community according to the season and/or holiday throughout the years as well as planning monthly birthday parties to honor residents.
• Assists Engage Life Director in enlisting the services of volunteers to aid the activities program.
• May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations (only if required by community).
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
