Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan seeks an Eng Spec, VRT Co-Lead / Quality Process Engineer to drive SPC, data analysis, and periodic job observations. You will support VRT with quality reviews, map quality charts, and lead corrective actions using 8D and lean methods.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Quality/Industrial Engineering and 2 years in related work, with expertise in six sigma tools, Core tools, and ergonomic analysis. Salary ranges from 88k to 160k per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience with six sigma tools (5WHY or 8-D) to solve manufacturing process issues.
  • Proficiency with Core tools including Control plan and PFMEA for proactive risk management.
  • Knowledge of Ergonomic analysis tools (MODAPTS or 3-D printing) to improve operator efficiency.
  • Experience with error-proofing tools (Sensors and Vision Systems) for early issue detection.
  • DMAIC/DMADV (DFSS) project methodology application to improve warranty, audit scores, throughput and first-run capability.

Responsibilities

  • Support VRT with statistical process control and data analysis.
  • Participate with VRT team to conduct periodic job observations and update status.
  • Provide data checks for quality reviews and maintain data accuracy in dashboards.
  • LeadRoot cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce inventory and improve processes.
  • Lead cross-functional VRT teams and PAC paper reviews.
  • Apply quality principles to establish and improve manufacturing processes and products.

What you’ll be able to do:

Eng Spec, VRT Co-Lead / Quality Process Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Wayne, Michigan). Support VRT with statistical process control and data analysis. Participate with VRT team to conduct a periodic job observation. Update the status to completion of periodic job observation. Provide external and internal data checks for quality reviews. Maintain health chart schedule and assessments. Maintain and review quality leadership system charts for data accuracy and work group binning. Perform subsystem checks as required. Learning control plan and verify data entry as required into web-based data management. Assemble acceptance criteria visual aids for the VRT. Maintain cycle line lay out indicator mapping with the assistance of the VRT. Update and maintain the Quality Confirmation Map. Apply Quality principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Analyze root causes, engage in mapping and corrective actions to reduce inventory. Lead role in resolving assembly related concerns. Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices. Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool and 6 panel.

You’ll have...

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing six sigma tools including 5WHY or 8-D to solve manufacturing process issues. 2. Using Core tools including Control plan and PFMEA for proactive risk management and quality improvement in manufacturing processes. 3. Utilizing Ergonomic analysis tools including MODAPTS or 3-D printing to improve operator efficiency and optimize job utilization. 4. Using Error proofing tools including Sensors and Vision Systems to early detection and prevention of issues in Manufacturing process. 5. Applying DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology in improving Warranty, Ford internal FCPA audit score, Plant Roll throughput Yield and Plant First run capability. 6. Overseeing production organization and leading cross functional VRT teams by conducting VRT working level and report out meetings, leading PAC paper reviews.

We are offering a salary of$88,763.76 - $159,526.80/yr.
