Job description

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 1 year of experience in data analysis using SQL, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  3. 1 year of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Master's of degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field.
  2. 1 year of experience or familiarity with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
  3. Experience in anti-abuse operations at scale.
  4. Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to gather requirements, explain models, and iterate to make improvements.
  5. Ability to go above and beyond to make operational improvements and solve tough problems.
  6. Excellent problem-solving, investigative, written and verbal communication skills.

Fast-paced, dynamic, and proactive, YouTube’s Trust & Safety team is dedicated to making YouTube a safe place for users, viewers, and content creators around the world to belong, create, and express themselves. In this role, you may be exposed to graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. This role will require on-call work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

As an Enforcement Detection Analyst on the YouTube Trust and Safety team, you will be directly responsible for ensuring that Google effectively identifies and removes disruptive content and users as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies and solutions to enforce YouTube content policies at scale. Leverage Machine Learning (ML), as appropriate.
  2. Deliver improvements to the performance metrics based on understanding of drivers of operations. Leverage programming skills to ensure that solutions fit within the current complex Product and backend infrastructures.
  3. Work with the Policy and Operations teams to understand the ever-changing policy enforcement landscape, and with Engineering teams to develop and test new features that address operational needs.
  4. Provide rapid incident response for abuse problems, operating independently. Analyze and draw conclusions on root-causes and define and implement mitigation steps.
  5. Manage an understanding of the abuse landscape, covering key vectors including insights towards drivers/intention of the abuse (why), methods to acquire accounts, gaps in our enforcement (how) etc.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
