Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation offers a Energy Utility Project Management Summer Internship designed to give hands-on experience in planning, scheduling, and controlling energy utility projects. You will work with project managers and controls professionals to coordinate tasks, maintain schedules, and prepare reports in a regulated energy environment.

The role emphasizes learning how scope, timelines, and resources impact project performance while gaining exposure to budgeting and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma, pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related major (e.g. Project Management, Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with planning, coordination, documentation, and follow-up on project tasks, meetings, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking milestones, action items, dependencies, and risks to keep work on target.
• Help prepare project estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cost updates while learning how scope, schedule, and resources impact project performance.
• Monitor project controls data, including schedules, costs, progress updates, and reporting dashboards, to support timely decision-making.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather project information, update documentation, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
• Gain hands-on exposure to both project management and project controls practices within a regulated energy utility environment.
