Job summary

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission is seeking a Commission Policy Advisor to provide expert guidance on electricity, natural gas, energy facilities, and telecommunications policy. You will prepare meeting messaging and presentation support for the Commission Chair and other Commissioners, assist in shaping legislative priorities, and communicate with legislators, staff, and stakeholders to advance agency goals.

Strong written and oral communication, and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional policy experience in regulation or related fields.
• Understanding of state utility regulation processes and legal frameworks.
• Experience developing and advocating for legislative outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Advise Commissioners, agency leadership, and staff on complex policy matters in electricity, natural gas, energy facilities, and telecommunications.
• Prepare meeting messaging and presentation support for the Commission Chair and other Commissioners; and assist in shaping legislative priorities.
• Help lead legislative and intergovernmental priorities and communicate them to legislators and stakeholders to ensure budgetary and legislative outcomes reflect agency priorities.
