Job summary

Western Door Federal seeks a highly professional, cleared Energy & Sustainability Specialist in Washington, D.C. The role supports the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment (ASA IE&E) with advisory services, analysis, and documentation on energy and sustainability initiatives.

The position requires 8-10 years of Army operational experience, a SECRET clearance, and strong program-management and communication skills to coordinate across government

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years demonstrated Army operational experience and sustainment programs.
• Must hold and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of program management and evaluation methods.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research, analyses, and assessments.
• Strong written and oral communication, task management, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Army in developing energy resilience for installations worldwide and support long-range strategies and plans.
• Provide analytic support, briefing materials, and coordination for energy initiatives.
• Advise ODASA (E&S) Director on energy/sustainability initiatives and track progress.
• Prepare documentation (fact sheets, proposals, cost-benefit analyses) for initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with statutes, EO, DoD/Army policy, and strategic guidance.
• Monitor progress toward energy goals and update budgets and briefings.
• Oversee energy projects through updates and program manager coordination, updating exhibits.
• Support analysis of strategy, policy, plans, and acquisition programs for Army capabilities.
• Monitor congressional reports and hearings affecting energy/sustainability activities.
• Prepare strategic communications materials promoting Army initiatives in energy, resilience, and resource security.
