Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking an Energy & Sustainability Engineering Intern to join our Advisory Solutions team in Atlanta, GA.

You will work with experienced engineers on real projects improving building performance, energy use, and environmental footprints. You'll gain hands-on experience in energy audits, modeling, decarbonization planning, and client-ready deliverables, with mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program for Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering or another closely related major, program must be ABET Accredited.
• Familiarity with buildings and infrastructure and their impact on the environment.
• Completion of at least 2 years of collegiate coursework prior to start of internship.

Responsibilities

• Support energy audits, feasibility studies, and decarbonization planning efforts for a variety of clients and facilities.
• Assist with energy modeling, performance assessments, and resilience planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate engineering solutions that improve building performance and operational efficiency.
• Help develop recommendations and implementation roadmaps that reduce environmental impact while supporting business objectives.
• Transform technical analyses into professional presentations and client-ready deliverables.
• Learn how high-performance buildings are designed, operated, and optimized to meet sustainability and energy goals.
